This term at Thornton College our third year students will be studying the choreographic traits and principles of renowned choreographer Bob Fosse. They will focus on Fosse's musicals 'Cabaret', 'Chicago' and 'Sweet Charity'. Group 3A took part in a Fosse workshop facilitated by professional choreographer and dancer Sarah Tyrer. Sarah is a Dance and Drama graduate from Liverpool Hope University with extensive experience in teaching Fosse technique. Group 3A were very pleased with the workshop and enjoyed the high energy warm up and set tasks.
Here are a few words from our students on what they thought of the workshop:
"I enjoyed working with Sarah especially when we were doing isolations". Kyle McNamara - 3rd Year Thornton student.
"I enjoyed everything about the workshop". Lita Jovaisa - 3rd Year Thornton student.
Mike Edwards who teaches Drama at Thornton said, "The students got a lot out of the workshop. It was very informative and enriched the students' studies of Fosse technique. Our students were mature and gave their input throughout the workshop. It is pleasing and rewarding to see our students flourish in a challenging and exciting environment".
