Inaugural Summer Fete Success

On the 16th June Thornton College held its first summer fete with parents, friends and future students to celebrate the year with current staff and students.

There were various activities for to take part in including; hook a duck, soak the staff, tombola and a raffle. There were also stalls selling fresh scones, cakes, strawberries and homemade lemonade.

Current students had the opportunity to take part in numerous sporting activities and also supported staff on the stalls.

Jenni, Lecturer at Thornton College said “The day was fantastic and a great success with £540 being raised, which is going to help fund a new college mini bus. We would also like to thank everybody who attended the fete and our staff who came along to offer their support.

Alun Owen, Director of Curriculum said “The day was a great success and gave the students and staff the opportunity to participate in various activities and liaise with future students.”

Everybody involved worked extremely hard to ensure the day was memorable and that students and visitors all enjoyed the day.
