Thanks to a long established link with M·A·C Cosmetics’ Liverpool store, students from Hugh Baird College’s Creative Hair and Media Make up courses have once again welcomed representatives from the iconic brand for a make up masterclass.
M·A·C Cosmetics is recognised as one of the most revolutionary and influential companies in the global cosmetics industry, supporting the creative needs and high standards of professional make up artists. Assistant Manager from the MET Quarter store, Jade Hull, along with MAC Pro Team Artist, Rachel O’Donnell, visited the Bootle campus to give budding make up artists a demonstration on the latest colour trends and MAC Pro products.
The group included Level 2 and 3 students on the Diploma in Special Effects and Theatrical Make up, as well as undergraduates from the Hugh Baird University Centre Foundation Degree in Creative Make up Design and Practice, which is validated by the University of Central Lancashire.
Level 3 student, Molly Bateman, said:
“It was great to watch a professional make up artist at work and hear her tips on the latest industry trends. I learned a lot and particularly about how to build up and organise your kit so that you have all of the essential products to hand.”
The next Regional Competition is a dodgeball and table tennis event to be held in April. Hugh Baird College will be attending and will be hoping to win further accolades.
