On the 8th June Thornton College students and staff held their annual Summer Fair. Parents, members of the community, friends and future students attended to celebrate the achievements of students throughout the year.
Proceeds from the fair will be donated to the College’s charity of the year, KIND, and to help fund a trip to Knowsley Safari Park.
There were various activities for to take part in including; beat the goalkeeper, bat the rat, spin the bottle, soak the staff, a coconut shy, name the teddy, tombola and a raffle. There were also stalls selling fresh scones, cakes and refreshments.
Christine Snape, Interim Head of Thornton College said:
“The day was fantastic and a great success with £1,100 being raised. We would also like to thank everybody who attended the fair and our staff who came along to offer their support."
Alun Owen, Director of Curriculum said:
“The day was a great success and gave the students and staff the opportunity to participate in various activities and liaise with future students. Everybody involved worked extremely hard to ensure the day was memorable and that students and visitors all enjoyed the day.”
