BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Foundation Year)

Approved by Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU)

In collaboration with Liverpool John Moores University, the Hugh Baird University Centre offers three Engineering Foundation Year courses, each forming the first year of one of three distinct Honours degrees:

Applicants for all three Honours degrees will study the same Foundation Year. This entry year is a Level 3 course delivered at Hugh Baird College and will provide a focused transition to an Engineering and Technology degree at Liverpool John Moores University.

On successful completion of the BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Foundation Year) course, students will progress directly to the BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering course at Liverpool John Moores University.

The Foundation Year is ideal if you have the ability to study for a degree but don't have the qualifications to enter directly onto your chosen Honours degree programme.

Foundation Year (Level 3) Modules:

  • Mathematics
  • Physics – Particles, Fields and Electricity
  • Physics – Mechanics, Materials and Waves
  • Engineering and Technology Practice
