Rebecca Ferguson, became a household name whilst appearing on ITV’s X Factor in 2010. She reached the finals of the seventh series, losing to that year’s winner, Matt Cardle.
As a student at Hugh Baird College, Rebecca qualified with merits as a Legal Secretary but always dreamed of becoming a singer.
Former Hugh Baird College student, Kurtis Stacey, joined the cast of Emmerdale in 2011 in his first major role. Kurtis appeared as farm hand, and village heart-throb, Alex Moss – a character with a ‘work hard/play hard’ attitude.
Kurtis, from Wavertree, studied Performing Arts at Hugh Baird College and was awarded the highest grade in the country for his National Diploma in Acting back in 2008.
Anthony Crean QC studied at Hugh Baird College from 1978 to 1981. Originally from Crosby, he is a passionate supporter of the College.
He believes the time he spent at here had a huge influence on his future and has returned on a number of occasions to inspire its next generation of students.
Hugh Baird College held their annual Awards Evening last week honouring students for their hard work and commitment during 2013/14. This year’s event was held at the College’s new L20 Building and, as always, each award was sponsored by an organisation with links to the College.Read more
Hugh Baird College graduate Kristy Ford has landed a double success after securing a first on her BA (hons) degree course and winning a job at the head office of retail giant Next. The 20-year-old from Lancaster has been a star of the Bootle-based college's Visual Merchandising and Promotional Design Higher Education course for some time.Read more
A graduate of Merseyside further education college Hugh Baird is looking forward to a long and successful career in the engineering and manufacturing sector after securing a place on a prestigious apprenticeship programme with Jaguar Land Rover. Sean Reece studied the NVQ Diploma Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair at Bootle-based Hugh Baird College covering a broad range of skills for engine and vehicle maintenance.Read more
Two students from the L20 Hotel School are celebrating after being offered work in Michelin starred chef Nigel Haworth’s latest addition to his Ribble Valley Inns Group. Keiran Ryder and Sean Sorrell are both studying on Hospitality and Catering courses at the L20 Hotel School which is part of Hugh Baird College in Bootle.Read more

Now working as a coach and events organiser for renowned make up brand, Bobbi Brown, Alex began her journey into the industry by studying NVQ2 and NVQ3 Make up qualifications at Hugh Baird College.Read more
Pascale Woodward, a student on the Extended Diploma in Travel and Tourism Course is looking forward to starting an adventure at Camp America next week. Pascale started her studies at Hugh Baird College on the 14-16 School Link Programme four years ago studying for the New Diploma in Hospitality Level 2. She then progressed to the Extended Diploma in Travel and Tourism, which she has now successfully completed.Read more
