Colette Mawdsley

Dean of Higher Education & Access

After 12 successful years in industry Colette joined Hugh Baird College in 1997 as a part time lecturer teaching Display Design and Point of Sale Advertising. It was during this time Colette co-wrote and subsequently became course leader for the Foundation Degree and BA (Hons) Top up Visual Merchandising and Promotional Design (VMPD) courses, which are validated by the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan).

In 2013 Colette joined the HE management team as Higher Education Academic Lead for Information. Colette has been instrumental in the growth of HE at the College and was significantly involved in the 2015 Quality Assurance Agency Higher Education Review, which saw the College gain two commendations.

Colette is currently Interim Dean of Higher Education and Access and her responsibilities continue to be focused on strategic leadership with operational management, as well as a clear focus on quality and demand led growth and ensuring the student experience is at the heart of everything they do.
