Hugh Baird College works in partnership with various organisations including primary schools, community centres, children’s centres, youth centres, church groups and specialist agencies to build and extend community learning provision within the local and surrounding areas, giving individuals the opportunity to develop and progress.
If you're not sure what you want to study, you don’t want to commit to a full-time course, you’re returning to learning after a long break or you simply want to make friends while picking up some new skills and enjoying yourself, then a community learning course could be right for you.
In 2014/15, 591 learners accessed community courses at various centres within the area in addition to short taster courses held at the College.
“Fantastic taster course, can’t wait to proceed to further education”.
“The tutor was always ready to assist you. Demos and teaching were good. Very friendly. I would recommend it”.
“The course was brilliant and I have learned so much. The tutor was excellent, patient, helpful, humorous and entertaining. I enjoyed every part”.
