Engineering, Energy & Advanced Manufacturing

Engineering, Energy & Advanced Manufacturing

The Engineering, Energy and Advanced Manufacturing department at Hugh Baird College is set to expand in order to meet employer demand in these areas.

There is a local need for practical Engineers in the fields of Electrical, Marine, Aeronautical, Advanced Manufacturing and Wind Turbine, to name but a few.

In addition, in line with employer wishes, we have developed courses in multi skilled Building Services which includes both electrical installation and plumbing skills with the opportunity to go on to specialise in either field.

All of our courses include developing knowledge and skills in sustainable and low carbon energies so that we are producing a workforce who will be able to meet employers' green agenda. Females are particularly welcome in Engineering, Energy and Advanced Manufacturing as we have a growing demand from employers who are very keen to recruit more women.

Where are they now?
