Health & Social Care

Health & Social Care

Our Health & Social Care qualifications are taught by lecturers with industry experience and provide you with a broad underpinning knowledge of all aspects of health provision, including communication skills, equality and diversity, anatomy and physiology, lifespan development, nutrition and dealing with challenging behaviour, to name a few.

You will take part in numerous trips and will be visited by guest speakers who bring to the classroom a wealth of professional knowledge and personal experience.

Our aim is to ensure you are ready to enter employment when you leave Hugh Baird College and, as part of your course, you will undertake a work placement. This time out in industry is very important and allows you to gain knowledge and develop a wide range of skills working within a setting relevant to your chosen career pathway. Many of our learners go on to secure full time employment as a result of their placement.

Please note: To gain access to this course you will need to go through a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. If you have criminal convictions or cautions, please do not be put off from applying for the course. Your acceptance on to the course will depend on the nature of any convictions and will be at the discretion of the College and your placement provider.
