The qualification is designed to provide you with opportunities to develop skills in your specialist chosen pathway in health care and caring for people living with dementia.

In Year One, the main focus will be developing your knowledge and understanding of caring for people living with dementia, enabling undergradautes to make links between the key concepts and issues, and the delivery of community and care services in practice.

Contemporary dementia care service delivery will be explored with the aim of introducing undergraduates to the structure and organisational context of dementia care services and the key legislation and policy underpinning current service delivery.

The role of research in dementia care service delivery will be explored with the aim of developing key skills of analysis and critique in the provision and development of community and care services.

In Year Two, you will be further developing your knowledge and understanding. The course will critically examine therapeutic interventions, evaluate the impact of other functional problems and identify the practical application and the benefits of therapeutic interventions for people living with dementia.

Teaching and learning on the course will be delivered through a range of lectures, research seminars, group work and analysis.
