Lauren left Hugh Baird College with exceptional grades in the CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education.
She is also due to start studying for degree in Early Childhood Studies at Edge Hill University.
I loved my time at Hugh Baird College. I enjoyed getting to know the other people on the course and I have made some amazing friends. I also owe the tutors and lecturers from the Childcare department a lot. They helped me when I needed it and really made sure we had a varied and exciting College experience.”
My timetable was packed full of more than just my course. I took part in maths and English classes and also attended enrichment activities outside of College. This included visits to universities and it was thanks to one of these visits that I decided to take my studying to the next level and enrol at Edge Hill University to further my knowledge in the field of childcare.”
The actual childcare course I studied provided me with opportunities to get involved in the development of children first hand as I undertook placement out in industry. This was great as I gained contacts and wasn’t just sitting in a class room and learning about children. I was able to get experience of what it’s was like to be in a nursery and helping children learn. This experience gave me more confidence around children and I didn’t feel overwhelmed when I went on to secure permanent employment.”
Believe in yourself. Apply yourself to the course throughout the year and keep focussed on your career goals. By doing this, you will remain on track and you won’t be rushing at the end of the year to finish work.”
