Courses approved by:
Our Business and Management courses have been developed in consultation with local industry, identifying skills gaps in the management sector and the business area as a whole.
Validated by either the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) or the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), our range of business related courses offer the chance to gain ‘hands on’ experience whilst covering fundamental business principles and disciplines as well as more advanced concepts such as international marketing, contemporary issues in business, enterprise and business strategies.
The courses aim to prepare undergraduates for a diverse range of potential careers from human resources and marketing to senior management or running their own business. Students will benefit from a more personal and, therefore, more individual approach to teaching which will enrich their experience. Many will have the opportunity to visit local businesses to enhance their understanding of their studies and will hear from guest lecturers from various industries.
The ultimate aim is to enhance employability and enable successful graduates to take advantage of the varied opportunities available from local, national and international industries. At local level, the creation of the new SuperPort at the Port of Liverpool, means that business opportunities in the area are expected to increase. It is envisaged that The Hugh Baird University Centre’s proximity and close connections with the Port, will allow undergraduates to take full advantage of this expansion.
