Our Fashion and Textiles courses have been specifically designed to allow undergraduates the opportunity to develop the vast and demanding skills required to work in the fashion and textiles industry.
You will study, explore and develop surface pattern design, fashion illustration and fabric construction techniques allowing you to follow your own chosen specialist pathway within fashion and textiles.
Whilst researching contextual and contemporary studies in fashion and textiles, you will be challenged to experiment with combining both traditional and new techniques including print, stitch and constructed textiles. Mastering the art of design illustration, you will be able to learn and develop digital skills enhancing your portfolio of design work.
Visiting guest lecturers offer further insight into the fashion and textiles industry with opportunities to support you in your studies and to help build a successful and unique portfolio.
Working to industry standards, you are given the chance to work on live project briefs with further opportunities to enter competitions and events both locally and nationally. Broadening the scope of available career paths, you will gain the knowledge of setting up your own business or becoming a freelance practicing fashion and textiles designer.
Our Fashion and Textiles - Foundation Degree (FdA) fully prepares you to follow onto a top up year where you can achieve a full BA (Hons) Degree in Fashion and Textiles, adhering to a more personalised independent approach to creative thinking and design innovation, developing and producing business ideas for the future of fashion and textiles whilst showcasing your work on a global basis.
