Frequently Asked Questions

No. The HBUC Graduation Ceremony is not intended to replace your UCLan Graduation Ceremony but is an extra event we are holding to congratulate you on your achievements and celebrate your success.

Yes. You are more than welcome to attend both ceremonies if you wish. Alternatively, you may choose to attend one or the other, or indeed neither. There is no obligation to attend either event and non-attendance will not affect you receiving your final award.

The Graduation Ceremony will take place on Friday, 22nd November 2019. The starting point will be the Hugh Baird University Centre where you’ll collect your cap and gown and have an opportunity for photographs. We’ll then go to Bootle Town Hall for the ceremony, gathering back at the University Centre afterwards for refreshments, gowning returns and further group photographs.

The ceremony itself will be free to attend but, as with all graduation ceremonies, all graduating students will be expected to wear cap and gown. Details of how to hire these will be sent with your formal invite nearer the time.

We are hoping to be able to include friends and family at the event. However, this will depend upon the number of students attending and venue capacity. Details will be included with your formal invite to be sent out around October 2019.
