About these courses

These evening courses have been designed to give you an understanding of the principles of MIG and TIG welding.

These courses will enable you to demonstrate welding skills typically found in industry. You will learn the associated underpinning knowledge to a level that will enable you to complete welded joints in simple welding positions and prepare you for undertaking qualifications at NVQ Level 2, if you wish to do so.

After completing a course you will be able to set up and shut down welding equipment safely, distinguish between good and poor welds, and complete a number of welding tasks in using either MIG and TIG welding techniques.
