Hugh Baird College South Sefton Campus to become Sefton Sixth Form College

From the 1 August 2023, the Hugh Baird College South Sefton Campus will be changing its name to Sefton Sixth Form College.

We will remain a part of Hugh Baird College, and our students will still have access to the same fantastic learner support, facilities, and teaching staff. The leadership at the College will also remain the same.

We are an academically driven sixth form centre with the resources and support to help you achieve success in your next steps; whether that be going to university, securing an apprenticeship, or straight into employment. In order to reflect this academic experience, we feel it is important that we identify as a sixth form college.

In this short video, Joe Poole, Assistant Principal, explains the change and how it can benefit you.

The story behind the logo

The logo design for Sefton Sixth Form College is a blend of old and new; inspired by the history of the College’s rural fertile location, the proximity to the river Mersey and the College’s desire and commitment to academic rigour and educational excellence.

We wanted to create a brand that not only reflected the College’s ambition as a beacon for high educational attainment and career progression but also recognised the importance of its surrounding area and local historical significance. We feel the logo embodies high professional and academic standards, growth, fluidity, progress and respect for the importance of historical foundations.
