The course is carefully structured to help you build both, subject knowledge and essential academic skills, preparing you for the challenges of higher education. Our Access to Higher Education Level 3 Diploma in Criminal Justice (Policing) is a recognised qualification completed over two days per week. Giving you the potential to achieve up to 144 UCAS points, which is equivalent to 3 A grades at A level.

Throughout your studies, you'll receive personalised support from a dedicated Personal Development Coach who will guide you every step of the way, helping you recognise your strengths, areas for growth, and ensuring you stay on track to reach your goals. Our team of outstanding expert teachers, with extensive experience working with adult learners, are committed to providing you with outstanding academic and pastoral support. Whether you’re returning to education after a break or are ready to start a new path, we’re here to help you succeed into a career in the criminal justice sector.

After successfully completing your access course at the college, you can progress to study policing and criminal justice, criminology, youth work and other degree level qualifications. You will also be guaranteed an interview to study one of the relevant undergraduate courses at our University Centre.

In addition, successful completion of the diploma maximizes employability options, providing learners with the vocational and practical application to enable direct entry into some roles which do not require a degree.

Learners will study 4 modules over the course of one year, learning key information around the topics of policing and criminal justice, criminology, psychology and sociology: gaining a valuable insight into theories and practices central to our criminal justice system.

Our course modules are designed to make learning manageable and achievable. With smaller, focused assignments, you’ll have the opportunity to gradually build your confidence and develop essential skills in academic writing and research. Each step is carefully structured to help you grow, ensuring you feel supported and prepared for the next challenge.
