Course Details
This course will give you an insight into the floristry industry and will allow you to develop basic skills in a wide range of floristry techniques including the construction of tied designs, wedding designs and general floral arrangements.
The course is mostly practical and will be delivered in the college’s floristry workshops, the development of practical skills will be supported by classroom sessions to develop an understanding of the theory of floristry including the selection, identification and use of flowers and foliage. Work related experience is a required course element so you will have the opportunity for a high quality work placement which will give you an insight into the everyday operation of a floristry business. During the programme you will also have the opportunity to develop your maths and English skills to further support your employability.
The programme also includes studying Maths and English towards GCSE grade 9-4 (old grading system: A*-C) if you do not already have these grades.
