Course Details
The Vocational Pathways courses at the College enables you to choose from a diverse range of courses;
- Information Technology
- Health and Social Care
- Caring for Children
- Hair and Beauty
- Art and Design
You will study two subjects in the first term and then choose one to pursue for the rest of the year, whilst improving your employability and study skills alongside your vocational subjects. The Vocational Pathways course gives you choices to shape your learning journey before fully committing to your next steps.
The Art and Design option provides an introduction to some of the key themes in art and design, enabling students to develop and apply their knowledge whilst also developing a range of relevant practical, communication and technical skills. The option incorporates aspects of drawing, painting, printmaking, fine art and project work.
The portfolio-based approach to assessment will support the development of communication skills such as extended writing and drafting, critical skills of analysis, team-working, working from a prescribed brief, working to deadlines presenting information effectively, accurately completing tasks and processes and study skills such as research and time management.
You will also have the ability to study towards your GCSEs in maths and English if you do not already have them.
