Course Details
This is course will provide you with an inspiring curriculum that will offer you the academic knowledge and occupational competency required for a rewarding and exciting career within the healthcare sector.
The course offers a range of topics that embed core knowledge before applying and expanding this to your occupational specialism of either Adult Nursing, Mental Health or Assisting Healthcare Science.
Developed in collaboration with employers, a T-level aims to help you gain the high-quality technical skills to open the door to highly skilled employment, a higher apprenticeship or university.
The course combines the practical learning experiences of a BTEC, the classroom theoretical learning of A-levels and the real-life industry experience of an apprenticeship.
You will complete a minimum of 45 days of industry placement over the 2 year course, allowing you to develop real-life experiences in this industry, as well as make meaningful connections with established professionals and experts. This opportunity is unique to T-levels and gives you a strong head start in this competitive market in terms of progression.

Occupational specialisms: Supporting Adult Nursing and Supporting Mental Health Team.
- Principles of good scientific and clinical practice
- Infection prevention and control in health-specific settings
- Working within the health and science sector
- Assisting the adult nursing team with clinical skills
- Provide care and support for individuals with mental health conditions
- University - including FdA Health and Social Care and FdA Mental Health and Wellbeing at the Hugh Baird University Centre
- Higher/Degree Apprenticeship
- Employment
T-levels are recognised by Universities and hold a more substantial UCAS value than some A-levels or BTECs. A T-level is worth the equivalent of 3 A-levels. Due to the high level of industry experience you will receive, you would also be in a very strong position to move onto an Apprenticeship.
On completion of your T-level, the career opportunities are wide-ranging and diverse. You could access further training/Higher Education to work towards a career as a:

- Speech and Language Therapist
- Diagnostic Radiographer

- Operating Department Practitioner
