The City & Guilds Level 1 Award in Parametric Modelling gives you a hands-on introduction to Computer Aided Design (CAD), teaching you to build 3D models from scratch while developing a solid understanding of the software, hardware and safe working practices behind professional design environments.

 It's an ideal starting point if you're exploring a career in engineering, manufacturing or design, giving you a nationally recognised qualification and the foundational skills employers in these sectors are actively looking for.

  • CAD workstation hardware and software
  • Health and safety and safe computer use
  • Parametric modelling interface features
  • Creating sketches and geometry
  • Using constraints and dimensions
  • Producing extruded and revolved features
  • Creating assemblies
  • Producing drawing layouts and outputs
City & Guilds Level 1 Award in Parametric Modelling
4 hours per week for 10 weeks

This course provides a foundation for progression into:

  • BIM or digital construction pathway (with further study)
