Course Details

This two-week fast track course aims to provide you with the skills and knowledge required to progress to employment within catering, hospitality and tourism or progress to further study.

You'll gain knowledge and skills in our award-winning L20 Restaurant, gaining valuable experience in areas such as customer service and barista skills.

  • An introduction to study skills
  • Customer service in the hospitality industry
  • Developing barista skills
Level 1 Award in Skills for Professions in Catering, Hospitality and Tourism
2 weeks, 5 days per week (9:30am to 3:30pm)
  • Further training
  • Employment

Catering and Food Service:

  • Kitchen: Head Chef, Sous Chef, Chef de Partie, Commis Chef, Kitchen Porter, Pastry Chef.
  • Service: Waiter/Waitress, Restaurant Manager, Bartender, Barista, Barback, Catering Assistant, Food Runner, Sommelier, Banquet Server.

Hospitality and Accommodation:

  • Front Office/Management: Hotel Manager, Front Office Manager, Receptionist, Concierge, Night Auditor.
  • Housekeeping/Support: Executive Housekeeper, Room Attendant/Steward, Porter, Valet.

Tourism and Events:

  • Event Planner/Coordinator
  • Meeting and Convention Planner
  • Tour Guide/Operator
  • Travel Agent
  • Cruise Ship Steward
