This free three hour course will provide you with an introduction to British Sign Language and help break down barriers to communication.
The course is available at Allerton Library.
- Introduction to British Sign Language (BSL) and its importance in communication
- Basic BSL vocabulary for everyday interactions (greetings, common phrases, etc.)
- Introduction to finger spelling (alphabet)
- Key BSL signs for carers (healthcare-related, family roles, emotions)
- Practical activities and role-playing to reinforce learning
